10 Inexpensive Ways to Make your House Look Expensive

Did you know that giving your house an expensive look has nothing to do with how much money you spend? Well, you’re about to find out.

Here are 10 inexpensive ways to make your house look high-end.

Hang curtains high

For a high-end look, the curtains should be higher than the windows and run down to the floor.

This visually lengthens the windows making the ceiling seem higher and the room larger.

They also add an ambiance of luxury.

The width should be at least two times the width of your window, to achieve a proper fullness.

mirrors

Reflective mirrors will make a room feel instantly bigger and brighter and so in turn make the living space feel more.

In spaces without any natural lighting, mirrors can also be used to reflect artificial light too and they can help you to light dim corners of a room.

Use chandeliers

You can use chandelier lighting in your bedrooms, kitchen, and even your bathroom.

The chandelier is statement lighting that not only takes atmospheric glamour up a level but also chandeliers gives a warm and welcoming feel to any room.

Go large with rugs

Large rugs make a room appear bigger, so when it comes to budget it is better to go for an expansive but less expensive rug rather than a small, cheaper option.

Make sure the rug goes under the edges of big items of furniture such as sofas for a luxe effect.

Declutter

If you want to know how to make your house look expensive for totally free, decluttering doesn’t cost a thing.

Dispose of or give away items that are not in use.

Try fancy rope /basket storages that not only add to the aesthetic feel of the room but also hide unused items.

Streamline Your Gallery Walls

Choose art or photos that are within a similar color palette. Incorporate frames that are similar (or identical) in size and shape. Arrange them in a geometric layout like a grid or stair step.

The more uniform and symmetrical the art and layout, the more streamlined your gallery wall will look.

Add Plants

Every room needs at least a couple of plants for adding some life to the space.

There are some of my favorite faux plants that look realistic to place in a vase.

White Bed Linens

When you visit a luxury hotel, the sheets are always white. They feel clean and crisp If you think it’s difficult to wash well, they can be bleached.

By using white sheets and duvets in your bedrooms, you’re evoking that same luxury hotel feeling in your home.

Just like with white bedding, use white towels to create a high-end spa feeling in your bathrooms.

One black wall

Black is a color that many shy away from when it comes to interior spaces.

When doing black ensure your room has windows to let in as much natural light as possible

Also, employ a monochromatic scheme of colors such as white to give it a modern finish.

Lastly, remember to paint only one wall black. Dark colors read as receding from the viewer, so the accent wall visually enlarges the space

Upgrade hardware

Swapping out doorknobs, light plates, plug covers, curtain rods, and furniture knobs.

You don’t have to buy them you can simply spray paint.
