Amazing Wall Décor Ideas

Looking for wall décor ideas to refresh your space? Those empty walls are filled with possibilities—and a few additions can make a house feel like a home. In this article, we are going to review some of the wall décor ideas that are easy to do.

1. Large-scale art

An oversized painting or photograph will not only command attention and set the tone in a space.

To add on that, it also amplifies the dimension of a small room making it appear larger.

When choosing a painting or a photograph always remember the theme colours of your room. Choose something that goes well with them.

4.Wall baskets

Using baskets as décor is the sort of strategy that adds beauty and texture to a space. It’s also a budget-friendly way to decorate large wall areas.

Wall baskets are go really well with an afro-themed house.

Whenever creating arrangements, I recommend  an odd number. The exact number will depend on basket sizes and the space you’re trying to fill. You can even overlap baskets, but don’t hang any too far apart.

5.Green walls

You can also try hanging or mounting plants. They not only add greenery to your space but also gives walls an aesthetic feel. When it comes to plants I will highly recommend faux plants. They are easier to maintain.

10 Inexpensive Ways to Make your House Look Expensive

Did you know that giving your house an expensive look has nothing to do with how much money you spend? Well, you’re about to find out.

Here are 10 inexpensive ways to make your house look high-end.

Hang curtains high

For a high-end look, the curtains should be higher than the windows and run down to the floor.

This visually lengthens the windows making the ceiling seem higher and the room larger.

They also add an ambiance of luxury.

The width should be at least two times the width of your window, to achieve a proper fullness.

Reflective mirrors will make a room feel instantly bigger and brighter and so in turn make the living space feel more.

In spaces without any natural lighting, mirrors can also be used to reflect artificial light too and they can help you to light dim corners of a room.

Use chandeliers

You can use chandelier lighting in your bedrooms, kitchen, and even your bathroom.

The chandelier is statement lighting that not only takes atmospheric glamour up a level but also chandeliers gives a warm and welcoming feel to any room.

Go large with rugs

Large rugs make a room appear bigger, so when it comes to budget it is better to go for an expansive but less expensive rug rather than a small, cheaper option.

Make sure the rug goes under the edges of big items of furniture such as sofas for a luxe effect.

If you want to know how to make your house look expensive for totally free, decluttering doesn’t cost a thing.

Dispose of or give away items that are not in use.

Try fancy rope /basket storages that not only add to the aesthetic feel of the room but also hide unused items.

Streamline Your Gallery Walls

Choose art or photos that are within a similar color palette. Incorporate frames that are similar (or identical) in size and shape. Arrange them in a geometric layout like a grid or stair step.

The more uniform and symmetrical the art and layout, the more streamlined your gallery wall will look.

Add Plants

Every room needs at least a couple of plants for adding some life to the space.

There are some of my favorite faux plants that look realistic to place in a vase.

Visit the House of leather to buy such

White Bed Linens

When you visit a luxury hotel, the sheets are always white. They feel clean and crisp If you think it’s difficult to wash well, they can be bleached.

By using white sheets and duvets in your bedrooms, you’re evoking that same luxury hotel feeling in your home.

Just like with white bedding, use white towels to create a high-end spa feeling in your bathrooms.

One black wall

Black is a color that many shy away from when it comes to interior spaces.

When doing black ensure your room has windows to let in as much natural light as possible

Also, employ a monochromatic scheme of colors such as white to give it a modern finish.

Lastly, remember to paint only one wall black. Dark colors read as receding from the viewer, so the accent wall visually enlarges the space

Upgrade hardware

Swapping out doorknobs, light plates, plug covers, curtain rods, and furniture knobs.

You don’t have to buy them you can simply spray paint.

The bottom line

Above all ensure you maintain cleanliness and tidiness in your space and Repair or replace old items. If you enjoyed this article kindly comment on the box below or call 0711082929 or email us at info@mintvillas.co.ke

Here are some creative and inexpensive ideas on how you can decorate your bedroom;

Design a Monochromatic Room

a monochromatic room is where one color is used but different shades and textures are blended to make a whole.

Yes, you can extend the color of your paint to the ceiling, but if you want to give your room a little more style, consider using wallpaper

A large wall art not only finishes the space but also acts as a focal point or Centerpiece of the room.

Stick to a Black and White Palette

Believe it or not, a black-and-white bedroom doesn’t have to be boring. Weaving layers of patterns and materials into the space can help to boost its visual appeal.

when going for vibrant colors I would recommend a maximum of two colors. Take this room by appropriate design for example. Here they used blue and orange and combined neutral colors such as grey and white.

4 Ways to Make Your Living Room Pop

The living room is where most interactions happen. It acts as a reception for guests. It’s where we relax after a long day at work and watch TV. It is therefore undoubtedly the most important room to consider when decorating a house. Decorating your living room should display who you are as a person or as a family. Here are 5 simple ways to make your living room stand out.

<iframe src=”https://assets.pinterest.com/ext/embed.html?id=314126142774214957″ height=”445″ width=”345″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no” ></iframe>

choose a color scheme

A color scheme cannot be chosen using a formula. What emotions do you want to elicit? Warm colors like orange and yellow trigger feelings of happiness, optimism, and energy. Cool colors (green, blue, and purple) evoke feelings of calmness, security, and trust.  Black symbolizes power, luxury, and mystery, whereas white denotes minimalism and simplicity. Consider colors that reflect your personality. Make certain that the colors you choose complement one another. You can find free color wheels on the internet. Do your research, use apps like Pinterest, and come up with the best color scheme.

Choosing furniture

Furniture is also an important aspect of the living room. It takes up the most room. The furniture should not only fit your home but also allow for movement. Before buying, make sure you have the correct measurements. When it comes to quality, don’t compromise. Set a budget and make sure to shop around for the best deal. Choose a color that complements your color scheme. I would suggest using neutral colors and choosing a material that is also easy to maintain. Above all, choose furniture that is warm and welcoming.

We have natural and artificial lighting. They are both significant. In a living room, lighting not only improves mood but also increases safety. Lighting also brightens up dark rooms. Always measure to ensure that lighting fixtures fit properly. Consider the weight as well. Designer Billy Ceglia suggests that if it’s light and airy, it’s best to size up, whereas if it’s dark and massive, sizing down is a better option.  Lighting can be a focal point in your living room too. Chandeliers, for example, can serve this purpose. Experiment with what works best in your living room.

decorative items

These are esthetically pleasing items you can add to your house to make it look exquisite. The items you choose should fit and blend in with the space in terms of color and texture. Choose unique and quality items to bring that elegant aura. Décor items include:

  • Mirrors
  • Rugs
  • Plants
  • Wall art
  • Clock
  • Books

The bottom line

When it comes to the living room, collect items that are unique to you, and your home will become a story. A house’s items should communicate with one another, as well as respond to and balance one another. Above all, let your living space mirror your style and taste.
